George Weissgerber: May 22, 1927 - April 30, 2007
On Monday April 30, 2007, GATSME Model RR Club, and the world, lost a true gentleman. George Weissgerber was a longtime member who was president for at least 20 years of his over 40 years of membership in the club. If there was a vacuum in the structure of the club, George would be the first to fill in. Any odd job that no one else would do, there was George. Never complaining, always dependable.

He was a member of many rail organizations, including: PRRT & HS - National and Philadelphia Chapter, Santa Fe Historical Society, and Life Member of the NMRA, MER, and the Philadelphia Division of the MER.

He often accompanied Dave Messer MMR to home layouts to help judge for Achievement Program certificates. Attended many National Conventions, MER Conventions, and those of the PRRT & HS and Santa Fe Society.

He enjoyed the hobby and the fellowship that goes along with it.

He would have been 81 on May 22, 2007. He is survived by his wife Ursula and three children.

He will be missed.
